Gravitational collapse of quantum fields and Choptuik scaling

Gravitational collapse into a black hole has been extensively studied with classical sources. We develop new formalism to simulate quantum fields forming hole. By choosing convenient coherent state, this taps well-established techniques used for and adds on the evolution of mode functions field operator. Divergences are regularized cosmological constant Pauli-Villars fields. Using massless spherically symmetric scalar as an example, we demonstrate effectiveness by reproducing some results in gravitational collapse, identifying difference due effects. also find that Choptuik scaling critical survives semiclassical simulation, furthermore deviation from decreases when system approaches point.
